The Udaipur World Music Festival is a magnificent celebration of music that transcends borders and unites cultures. Our journey began in 2015 when we recognized a compelling need for a world-class music festival in India. While solo acts were thriving, there was a collective longing for a comprehensive musical experience that would bring together artists from across the globe.

The Udaipur World Music Festival isn’t just a music festival, it’s a destination music festival. Nestled in the heart of Rajasthan, in the enchanting city of Udaipur, the Udaipur World Music Festival has firmly established itself as a world music destination in Asia. Now, when people think of Udaipur, they envision a vibrant destination festival where music knows no boundaries.

This festival is a harmonious blend of diverse sounds, featuring artists from around the world, including Morocco, Portugal’s enchanting Carmenio, and talents from rare corners of the globe such as Africa, Cuba, Brazil, and Portugal. The annual destination festival has graced us with performances by eminent artists like NoJazz (France), Oques Grasses (Spain), Schneller Roller Meier (Switzerland), and many more.

Spread over three picturesque venues in Udaipur, thoughtfully curated to match the different moods of the day, the Udaipur World Music Festival is a unique concept. The morning venue, Ambrai Ghat, sets the stage for meditative melodies and captivating collaborations between International and Indian artists. Afternoons are dedicated to romantic serenades, where music gracefully complements the stunning Fateh Sagar Pal location.

As the sun sets, evenings come alive with high-energy music at Gandhi Ground, ensuring that every moment is filled with rhythm and soul.

Udaipur World Music Festival is about sharing the magic with everyone. At SEHER, we believe in democratizing music, liberating it from the confines of a proscenium concept, and making it accessible to the public without any paywalls.

Our commitment to art and music extends beyond the stage. With performances at the airport and railway stations by local artists and workshops for students in Rajasthan during the festival, Udaipur World Music Festival ensures that it benefits the local community as well.

Thanks to years of dedication and passion poured into it by SEHER, Udaipur World Music Festival has transformed Udaipur into the world music destination it is today. Each edition features a confluence of over 150 global artists from different countries performing in this three-day festival, attended by over 50,000 people every year.

In 2019, CNN International featured the Udaipur World Music Festival on their show ‘Travel Trends,’ recognizing it as a trendsetter in the cultural tourism circuit. The film reached over 354 million households and hotel rooms in more than 200 countries.
