Javed Akhtar book launch :
Indian screenwriter, eminent Urdu poet and lyricist, Shri Javed Akhtar released his literary masterpiece, Quiver: Poems and Ghazals an English translation by David Matthews of Tarkash, Mr Akhtar’s book in Urdu. The event was organised by Seher on the 12th November 2001 at ITC Maurya Sheraton, New Delhi.
The poems speak of the poet’s reminiscence of his childhood, and bemoan the loss of its innocence with time. Shri Gopichand Narang, a figure of intellectual eminence, graced the evening as the Guest of Honour. Shri Amitabh Bachchan, a man whose resonance stretched far beyond the silver screen was the Chief Guest.
The great Prof. Amartya Sen, an Indian economist and philosopher was the Guest of Honour. After he launched the book, there was an hour of poetry reading, a practice pioneered by Seher. The evening witnessed the English reading by Superstar Amitabh Bachchan and the Urdu reading of the book by Mr Javed Akhtar.

The event birthed the trend of public reading and discussion of literature and we read glad we conceptualised this event and collaboration with Javed Akhtar.
